Private Trail Rides in The Withlacoochee State Forest

Are you tired of riding the same trails every time you go for a trail ride?

Join us at Cypress Horse Ranch, where we take you and our horses to any of the horse trails in the 156,000 acres of the Withlacoochee State Forest.  5 -- 6 trails are within 10 -- 20 minutes drive.

We're only an hour north of the Tampa Airport, and just 2 miles west of I-75. Exit # 309.

Horses on Trail All of our rides are private, guided by one or two of our friendly, experienced trail guides.  We match each rider to one of our 20 know-it-all trail horses, based on the rider's experience and interests as stated when the ride reservation is made by phone.

We go out about 9 A.M. all seasons, and 1 -- 2 P.M. in cool months, 4 P.M. in hot months.

Enjoy the wildlife, deer, turkeys, giant turtles, armadillos, all part of the natural beauty of the original Florida, from the back of a comfortable horse.  Our trails cover varied terrain, so you're not just riding through lines of trees that all look alike.  We specialize in unique old Florida forest trails in state forests and water management regions within 10 -- 30 minutes by trailer.  You'll hardly ever see other people, or signs of modern civilization.

The speed during your 2 hour ride depends on the riding ability of your group.  That includes the weight and body build of the riders, their ability to balance well in the saddle, and ability to stop the horse by giving him the signal to slow or stop.  The weakest rider is our major concern.  We ride safely, not heedlessly.  Our concern is also for our horses welfare.  Heat and humidity are a serious drain on their energy, and this requires variation of speed and distance at each speed, even for well balanced experienced riders.
